Florida Tow-Away Signs
Florida tow-away signs, made to the statute
Before a vehicle can be towed from private property in Florida without the owner's consent, the property has to post tow-away signs that meet Florida Statute 715.07. We make those signs for HOAs, condominiums, plazas and businesses, with your towing company's name and phone number, and we install them within 50 miles of Jupiter.

What Florida Statute 715.07 asks for
This is our plain-English summary of s. 715.07(2)(a)5. Read it as a checklist, not legal advice.
- Placement: at each driveway or curb cut that lets vehicles onto the property, within 10 feet of the road. Where there are no curbs or access barriers, at least one sign for every 25 feet of lot frontage.
- Message: that unauthorized vehicles will be towed away at the owner's expense, in light-reflective letters at least 2 inches high on a contrasting background.
- "Tow-away zone": those words must be on the sign in letters at least 4 inches high.
- Towing company: the name and current phone number of the company that does the towing.
- Mounting: permanently installed, with the words "tow-away zone" between 3 feet and 6 feet above the ground. The sign has to be up for at least 24 hours before any tow.
- Small businesses: a business with 20 or fewer parking spaces can instead post a "Reserved Parking for Customers Only" sign, in reflective letters at least 4 inches high.
- Boats: if vessels can be towed, the sign has to say "vehicles or vessels".
Cities and counties can add their own rules, and many require a permit and inspection before towing is enforced. We facilitate permit acquisition for signs we install.
What we make
- Standard tow-away signs in 18"W x 24"H and 24"W x 30"H, on .080 aluminum with reflective sheeting so the letters are light-reflective.
- Customer-only parking signs for small businesses.
- Decorative frames, posts, bases and finials to match your community's street signs, so the tow signs look like part of the property instead of an afterthought.
- Replacement faces when your towing company or phone number changes.
This page summarizes the 2025 Florida Statutes for convenience. It is not legal advice. Laws change, and local rules can add requirements, so confirm the final wording with your association's attorney or your towing company.
