Signage has been an integral part of human communication and navigation for thousands of years. While it is difficult to pinpoint the exact origins of signage, its history can be broadly divided into several stages: Prehistoric and ancient signs: The earliest signs can be traced back to prehistoric cave paintings, which were used to convey information, stories, and beliefs. With the rise of ancient civilizations, signage evolved to include engraved stone tablets, murals, and mosaics for religious, political, and commercial purposes.
