Plastics

Acrylic:

Acrylic, also known as PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), is a thermoplastic material that is transparent, lightweight, and durable. It is often used as a substitute for glass due to its optical clarity and shatter-resistant properties. Acrylic is also easily machinable and can be cut, drilled, and shaped to meet specific needs.

Acrylic is most useful for creating displays, signage, and lighting fixtures due to its high transparency and ability to transmit light. It is also used in the manufacturing of aquariums, windshields, and safety shields due to its high impact resistance.

Starboard:

Starboard is a marine-grade, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic material that is waterproof, UV resistant, and durable. It is commonly used in the marine industry for boat building, as it is resistant to corrosion, rot, and mildew. Starboard is also easily machinable and can be cut, drilled, and shaped to meet specific needs.

Starboard is most useful for marine applications such as boat decks, hatches, and other components due to its durability and resistance to environmental factors such as saltwater and sunlight. It is also used in the manufacture of outdoor furniture, playground equipment, and signage.

PVC:

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a synthetic plastic material that is rigid, durable, and lightweight. It is commonly used in construction, plumbing, and electrical applications due to its resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and weathering. PVC is also easily machinable and can be cut, drilled, and shaped to meet specific needs.

Polycarbonate:

Polycarbonate is a durable and versatile thermoplastic material that is commonly used in the production of sign products. Its high impact resistance and ability to withstand extreme temperatures make it an ideal material for outdoor and indoor signs that need to withstand harsh weather conditions.

Polycarbonate is also known for its optical clarity, making it a popular choice for signs that require high visibility and readability. It is often used for illuminated signs and LED displays as it can diffuse light evenly, resulting in a more uniform and attractive appearance.

Corrugated Plastic:

Corrugated plastic, also known as fluted polypropylene, is a lightweight, durable, and versatile material featuring a unique structure of parallel hollow flutes. Known for its impressive strength-to-weight ratio, weather resistance, and ease of fabrication, it is commonly used in signage, packaging, and construction industries. This eco-friendly, recyclable material is highly customizable, available in various colors, thicknesses, and sizes, making it a popular choice for numerous applications, ranging from temporary shelters to reusable packaging solutions.
